Opening files from BaseCamp is only available for Windows and Web. Go to File - Open and select Basecamp. Connect with your account if you are not already authenticated. There are several ways to open a project from the Basecamp file picker: 

  1. Double click on a project; 
  2. Select a project and click Open button;
  3. Right-click on a project and select Open in contextual menu; 
  4. Select a project and click Enter key.

Why did my project open in Read-Only mode?

This means that the .MPP file was opened by another user in Project Plan 365 for PC / Server or in Microsoft Project. In order to prevent data loss, you cannot overwrite the original file, but you can still make changes and save them as a copy. Alternatively, you can wait until the project file is released by its editor.
What happens if another user tries to edit the project I am working on in a shared local network scenario?

Everyone trying to open the file while you are already working on it will have to open the file in read-only mode or try again later. Until you close the project or open a different one, the file will be locked for editing so no one else can overwrite your work, regardless of the application they use.
Can I edit a local project if someone else is making changes to it?

If somebody has already opened the project file in your local network either in Project Plan 365 for PC / Server, or in Microsoft Project, you will be informed that the file is in use and locked for editing and you will be offered the possibility of opening it in read-only mode. This means that you can make changes to the project, but cannot overwrite the original file and will have to save a copy instead.
Where can I save a MPP file so I can open it from all my devices?

In order to open the mpp file on all your devices, please save the mpp file in Drive 365 cloud. Then, you will be able to see the file on any other device with
a simple Sign in inside the application.
How can I open a MPP from my iPad?

To open a MPP file on iPad, just open the Project Plan 365 app and go to menu File – Open – Device – navigate to the location where your file is saved.
Can I sign out from clouds?

You are able to Sign Out from Clouds. In order to do that, go to the File menu, select Open then select the desired cloud. In the file picker that appears, click Sign Out button from the upper left side of the dialog. If you want to sign in with a different account, first you must sign out and then sign in with the desired account.

Why are my colleagues not able to make changes to the file shared on Drive 365?

​​If you have issue opening a .mpp file you might be in one of the following cases:
1. You are trying to open a newer MS Project mpp file with an older version of our app.
2. You may have a corrupt mpp file.
3. There may be a bug in our system.

No need to delete the opened file. We don't store any data from your MPP file. You just simply close the application or go to menu File-Close.
